Yes, I agree novels and films always fascinated me for the one reason they aren’t as boring as a real life. Even work is so thrilling in our grishams's Firm" .
I always wonder something different should happen, at least a flight getting delayed, or getting cancelled in middle of my journey, Or meeting some mystery person in airport like one of our agartha Christie’s passenger to Frankfurt.
Some thing existing happened this time in my US trip. Some of friends went to Niagara. We drove from Michigan to Niagara . The route could have been easy if we took the Canada way. We didn’t have a valid canadian visa so we went all the way through US .
After driving all the way.. we gave the driver to one of most experienced US driver . She was only person who had a driving license issued from United states. To add a compliment to her she would be on higher side of rating for lady drivers.
We with the help of google some how reached Us side of Niagara , Oh not yet .. We were wondering where the enterance of the falls was. Though active driver was one there were 5 passive driver. When we were about to enter the US- Canada border all passive driver started giving instruction , Poor kiran finally parked the car in front of the police guys.
What a day was that for the police dude he missed his life by a yard. Then frustrated guys asked us to drive all way to Canada and get a immigration signed. We have no other choice but to go inside. Then comes the interesting part
.. Oh my boy...i did carry my passport .. a Indian going into canada from US without a valid passport.. Oh my boy.. I was excited but to later find my self shitting bricks.
Finally accepting my ignorance of not carrying the passport. A Chinese dude immigrant office.. Thought kiran was my manager and gave some advice and thankfully not deporting me back to India.
After all the whole Hun Gama we saw Niagara .. Holy S**T what a day was that.

Strange F1 Facts
Oh.. Boy.. its all about man, machine and money.
A fromula once race apart from the sport has too much of technology involved.
Working on Drag, aerodynamics, brakes, tyres, aero efficieny. fuel strategy , tyre strategy isnt a easy thing.
Seeing the thermal view during the race is amazing .. but how the tyres withstand such a heat !!!!!!!!..
there are some extract which i found about F1 in internet, which are breath taking.
1. An F1 car is made up of 80,000 components, if it were assembled 99.9% correctly; it would still start the race with 80 things wrong!
2. F1 cars have over a kilometer of cable linked to about 100 sensors and actuators which monitor and control many parts of the car.
3. An F1 car can go from 0 to 160 kph AND back to 0 in FOUR seconds!!!!
4. F1 car engines last only for about 2 hours of racing mostly before blowing up on the other hand we expect our engines to last us for a decent 20yrs on an average and they quite faithfully DO....that’s the extent to which the engines r pushed to perform...
5. When an F1 driver hits the brakes on his car he experiences retardation or deceleration comparable to a regular car driving through a BRICK wall at 300kmph!!!
6. An average F1 driver looses about 4kgs of weight after just one race due to the prolonged exposure to high G forces and temperatures for little over an hour (Yeah that’s right!!!)
7. At 550kg a F1 car is less than half the weight of a Mini.
8. In an F1 car the engine typically revs up to 18000 rpm,(the piston traveling up and down 300 times a second!!) whereas cars like the palio, maruti 800,indica rev only up to 6000 rpm at max. That’s 3 times slower.
9. The brake discs in an F1 car have an operating temperature of approximately 1000 degrees Centigrade and they attain that temp while braking before almost every turn...that is why they r not made of steel but of carbon fibre which is much more harder and resistant to wear and tear and most of all has a higher melting point.
10. If a water hose were to blow off, the complete cooling system would empty in just over a second.
11. Gear cogs or ratios are used only for one race, and are replaced regularly to prevent failure, as they are subjected to very high degrees of stress.
12. The fit in the cockpit is so tight that the steering wheel must be removed for the driver to get in or out of the car. A small latch behind the wheel releases it from the column. Levers or paddles for changing gear are located on the back of the wheel. So no gearstick! The clutch levers are also on the steering wheel, located below the gear paddles.
13. To give you an idea of just how important aerodynamic design and added downforce can be such that small planes can take off at slower speeds than F1 cars travel on the track.
14. Without aerodynamic downforce, high-performance racing cars have sufficient power to produce wheel spin and loss of control at 160 kph. They usually race at over 300 kph.
15. The amount of aerodynamic downforce produced by the front and rear wings and the car underbody is amazing. Once the car is traveling over 160 kph, an F1 car can generate enough downforce to equal its own weight. That means it could actually hold itself to the CEILING of a tunnel and drive UPSIDE down!
16. In a street course race like the Monaco grand prix, the downforce provides enough suction to lift manhole covers. Before the race all of the manhole covers on the streets have to be welded down to prevent this from happening!
17. The refuelers used in F1 can supply 12 liters of fuel per second. This means it would take just 4 seconds to fill the tank of an average 50 litre family-car. They use the same refueling rigs used on US military helicopters today.
18. TOP F1 pit crews can refuel and change tyres in around 3 seconds.
19. Race car tyres don't have air in them like normal car tyres. Most racing tyres have nitrogen in the tyres because nitrogen has a more consistent pressure compared to normal air. Air typically contains varying amounts of water vapor in it, which affects its expansion and contraction as a function of temperature, making the tyre pressure unpredictable.
20. During the race the tyres lose weight! Each tyre loses about 0.5kg in weight due to wear.
21. Normal tyres last 60 000 - 100 000 km. Racing tyres are designed to last 90 - 120 km (That's Khandala and back).
22. A dry-weather F1 tyre reaches peak operating performance (best grip) when tread temperature is between 900C and 1200C. (Water boils at > 100C) At top speed, F1 tyres rotate 50 times a second.
It not only the machine , but also the driver it self should be super fit to drive a race
F1 Driver should be fitter than a football player and leaner than a Athelte . The heart beat during a race in unimaginale. Why will not doctor's get amazed seeing coulthard's heart beat move from 40 to 198 beats/minute . F1 driver also needs to manage 24 kgs in his neck during a race. This race also demand most mental concentration than any other sport.

A person who listens news or read news paper would have come across this name million times.
Let’s forget statistics of the game. Or rather let’s forget the game itself. To be there in a limelight for 2 decades is a big achievement. Oh that makes me feel some people are “Super Human “.
There are some extraordinary things this name has done.
Number of people who watched the sensex falling down due to meltdown were less than those who saw a person just making another milestone, isn’t this a supernatural thing?

Wright Brother gifts
Imagine having chocolate tarts and Singapore cocktails at 38000 feet from the ground.
Just one week before the successful flight of the Kitty Hawk by the Wright brothers, Comment in the New York were:

Improvisation is child game for today’s human, who changed the small flying machine to huge massive flying dream machine . Who could have imagined a day flying with 800 odd people @ 930 km/hr speed. Even when the ambient temperature is -35 C you are as comfortable as being in best spring season.
Oh I feel like god when I can see the day and night at the same time.. I have never seen a time machine, I just feel that this machine can take to place 14,000 km away ,and on the day which I have already spent. Going to back to past and future by 1 day in Trip!!!!!!!! Not bad at all.
I remember having a paper in my engineering days, which was Jet propulsion and gas dynamics . No mech engineer would have loved thermal papers, imagine a paper with Fluid dynamics and thermal concepts combined. Oh what a horrible situation was that. But now I wish I could have been one of the engineers who are working on the improvisation of the amazing machine.
The funny part is this machine is also be used for bringing couple of building down, drop 1000 of bombs, fly at mach 5 speed, remain still on air .
Flying over crowded traffic of Mumbai, leaping pacific , missing Chicago sky scrappers, escaping lighting, then Landing in other of part of world is fun . Now around the globe doesn’t need 80 days.

Dollar Magic
If going to US is craze in our country, having a dollar is also equally crazy.
This happened on a day I was coming to
I went to Thomas Cook to got some dollars and then was going to make a photocopy. Since it was a weekend I thought I will take a main road as ,I expected it would be empty. But I managed to find a traffic police at the end of the road.
Police : Where is your helmet
Me : I forgot to wear it today
police: Pay a fine of Rs 300
me : Get me the ticket
Police : If you don’t want to pay 300 , Give me 100
Me : No I will pay 300 get me the ticket (To show that I not going to give easily)
He then wanted to show his authority asked me for a license. I tried to pick my license from the wallet . He saw dollars in my wallet
Police:" Give me dollar "
Me : Why should I give you
Police : Just for keeping in the wallet
Me : Oh is it. Then it’s fine I will give you
Me: If I give me will you allow me to go
Police : Sure
Me: here You go
I was then let to go. I thought wow I saved at least 55 Rs. Wow it’s what is called dollar magic.

Beach Cricket !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am Loving it
Beach cricket sound familiar with the likes of beach volleyball. This cricket what we play is not similar to what Mark vaugh plays in Caribbean with the wooden Pitch in the beach.
Though Sunday morning we like to spend in bed, when we plan to play beach cricket we all manage to get up pretty early. We would get up around 6.00 in the morning get ready, pick a 7 year old bat, 3 tennis balls. We start from porur in 5 - 6 motor bikes to "Pebble beach" in ECR. On the way we never miss hot Kappi, Chai or Horlics with sundana Masal Vadai. Oh we also ensure to pick some packs snacks and few cold drinks to quench our thirst . This isn’t picnic just a normal cricket match !!!!!!.
No red lights, No traffic jams, No mams, who will not enjoy the drive early in the morning along ECR. Finally we all reach the destination pebble beach specifically in the TVS Avenue. The short left lane from the main road will have wonderful bungalow’s on either of the lane. Blue sea makes you wonder weather the horizon is where water and sky meet since they look similar.
Team almost remains same unless couple of guys are absent. Our boundary line are much flexible since depends on the lunar attractions. When the ball touches the sea it’s a boundary, Guess what we still place fielders in the sea, I guess even jonty rodhes would also envy us . Every body dives in full length either in sea or in beach. Coming to the rules it the same like cricket except the bowling and Batting is like baseball. Since the ball cannot bounce on the beach we need to bowl full toss, of course beamers are pretty much allowed. Mostly we don’t keep runs of the leg side as it doesn’t have the sea boundaries. All other cricket rule applies.
After playing 3-4 games you can find the tired bodies trying to run on the tough beach sand. Fielder usually gets some energy by just diving into the salty water. After playing 3 -4 matched finally we agree that we are getting old and admit that we cannot play further matches. Guess what we never upset our spectators, mostly the fisherman kids, Infact every one enjoying the early morning beach also enjoys our new form of cricket
We return tired, wet, bringing enough sand to build at least a compound wall. Our few places for morning breakfast would "hot chips" in adayar or any "kayandi bavan" in road side. Kayandi bavan's are fast and economical. We love hot chips because the rate of speed of delivery is very less than the rate of speed of eating. We just leap on dosa, upma's,vadas what ever like hungry dogs. Though you like to maintain an air of sophistication, the hunger and friendship doesn’t allow you to do so. You will go back to college day just enjoying what to do not bothering about the people sitting near you. Even after fighting over the plates, even after a hour , even the waiters get tired of bringing you food, you will still feel like having some more.
Since it brings all of us together , making fun of each other, pulling legs, fighting over a dosa, it all happens because of Cricket .. So we are loving it !!!!!!!!!!
Though Sunday morning we like to spend in bed, when we plan to play beach cricket we all manage to get up pretty early. We would get up around 6.00 in the morning get ready, pick a 7 year old bat, 3 tennis balls. We start from porur in 5 - 6 motor bikes to "Pebble beach" in ECR. On the way we never miss hot Kappi, Chai or Horlics with sundana Masal Vadai. Oh we also ensure to pick some packs snacks and few cold drinks to quench our thirst . This isn’t picnic just a normal cricket match !!!!!!.
No red lights, No traffic jams, No mams, who will not enjoy the drive early in the morning along ECR. Finally we all reach the destination pebble beach specifically in the TVS Avenue. The short left lane from the main road will have wonderful bungalow’s on either of the lane. Blue sea makes you wonder weather the horizon is where water and sky meet since they look similar.
Team almost remains same unless couple of guys are absent. Our boundary line are much flexible since depends on the lunar attractions. When the ball touches the sea it’s a boundary, Guess what we still place fielders in the sea, I guess even jonty rodhes would also envy us . Every body dives in full length either in sea or in beach. Coming to the rules it the same like cricket except the bowling and Batting is like baseball. Since the ball cannot bounce on the beach we need to bowl full toss, of course beamers are pretty much allowed. Mostly we don’t keep runs of the leg side as it doesn’t have the sea boundaries. All other cricket rule applies.
After playing 3-4 games you can find the tired bodies trying to run on the tough beach sand. Fielder usually gets some energy by just diving into the salty water. After playing 3 -4 matched finally we agree that we are getting old and admit that we cannot play further matches. Betel Leaves Indian sub for Wasabi
This blog is somewhere related to WASABI blog I have written . This one is nothing special but I just want to say that we also have something very similar to the Famous Japanese WASABI.
The betel leaves have different name in different languages. Eg.Taambuul and Nagavalli (Sanskrit), Vidyache pan (Marathi), veeleya/vilya (kannada), Vetrilai (Tamil), Vettila (Malayalam).My grand mother’s house is in Kerala , i did have a pretty good drive to her house. Our house is pretty old house and quite big. We used to have lot of tress in our back yard like, jackfruit, Mango, Badam , Tamarind, Teak,Neam , Lemon etc.
We also have Black pepper and betel leaves. Infact both these plants look kind of similar. I and my friend were just going through the garden, we just took a pinch of the leaves of betel and had the taste. It was very spicy and felt soothing when it went through the trot. I immediately though we have something every similar to wasabi. And the fact is that i eat the fresh leaves that were much better.
The aroma is very strong, once you fold them and smells it climbs very quickly inside your nose. As similar to wasabi the spice was very strong but it only last for few seconds that makes these very special and different from the spice from the chili.

ceteris paribus: Demand in life.
I always wondered about the economics and economist describing about demand. How does it apply to a normal individual , We have a desire to buy an expensive merc or a BMW but we are not backed by a ability to buy so its not considered to be a demand . Well makes a perfect sense.
But all I want this to be changed was on day I met an old man in adayar anandha Bavan . An old man in his mid 70’s comes to a shop and looks at the neatly arranged shelf of sweets and savories he walks back and forth seeing the prices and checks his pocket how much he can afford. He patiently asks for the prices of the things which are not marked, probably I felt he was praying that it should be in his budget. Finally he asks some thing to be packed, and at the counter when they say the price including the tax he find’s that he cannot afford that too. He simply walks out counting the money he has with him.
I then agreed with the economist infact demand is not only the desire to buy but also the ability to buy. This blog is also about the food, restaurant. Though the title stays about Bangkok it is infect about the restaurant in Grand rapids, Michigan called little Bangkok.
I always loved Thai food, not because it is very close to Indian food, but for its awesome taste. I generally do not prefer Rice though I am from southern part of India. Rice never exited me because it is always served with sambar, rasam and curd. But I would prefer to take rice in form of pulao, Mixed rice etc.
If we speak of Thai food immediately the dish that comes to every body mind is the "Thai Pad”. Pad Thai is a delicious dish of stir-fried rice noodles with eggs, tamarind juice, red chili pepper, plus any combination of bean sprouts, shrimp, chicken, or tofu, garnished with crushed peanuts and coriander. It is normally served with a piece of lime, the juice of which can be added along with the usual Thai condiments. For veggie you get a customized version which will not include shrimp, fish, egg etc.
Little Bangkok one of the best places in Grand Rapids which is popular among the Asians, Americans and Indians. Every afternoon you can find the restaurant is full with people try different food.
There are lot of dishes like , Gangree , Pad curry, Masamann, Pad Prik, pad Pek all the dish is served with high aromatic jasmine rice. Most of the Thai food is made of coconut milk which add flavor to the dishes. You can choose the ingredients based on your taste, you can go for Chicken, Tofu, and veggie version of the same. All the dished are available in 4 Hot version namely, less, Medium, hot and very hot.
Again veggie guys will get the veggie version of the same but the best can be enjoyed with shrimp and fish sauce.
The final verdict which I would like to give is that Little Bangkok is the must visit place if you want o try Thai food or rather something close to Indian food.

おいしいわさび : Tasty Wasabi
Want to try a snack with a kick try Wasabi. These Peas coated with wasabi are really hot and kicking.
I have tasted much spicy food which is made up of chili’s in which the hotness stays for a longer time. But in wasabi they are really hot but the hotness stays for a very less time. Its hotness can be compared to that of mustard.
Wasabi coated peas are basically a Japanese food. Wasabi belongs to a family of mustard whose roots are used as spice. Generally the root of the wasabi is used for the spice, but there are also ready to use paste for the Spice.
Wasabi coated peas are hot, once you keep them in mouth they are so strong that you feel spilling them out, its hits all the taste buds and brain in a sec. when you manage to eat them completely you feel real good. The great advantage is that the hotness will not last long.
Wasabi are usually coated with the most popular Sushi and Sashimi Japanese dish, for veggies folks they are try peas coated with wasabi.
The liner used for Frito’s perfectly fits them.."No one can eat just one ".
