Avatar 3D - Pandora travel expierence

As I have never been an early bird , after a long wait I got a chance to watch James Cameroon’s avatar in 3D . I am sure even if I want to watch second time I have to wait for few more weeks.

The movie was hyped a lot , Why was that , was it James Cameroon ? was it because entire movie was in 3D , was it because the movie is been set in new planet or rather moon, or because of the technology that movie had to wait for 10 years

Obviously for any thing you can argue from both the sides, Many people say that story line was bleak, totally agreed but what was there in titanic, why was it one of the best movie, A commoner guy in love with a pretty young rich lady. Since this was setup in a wonderful location titanic , which was made to sink this movie has crossed all boundaries . If we are to watch a movie only if the story line is different why would we watch 100s of bollywood and kollywood movie where a middle aged heroes romances young ladies running around a tree.

Story line : A paralyzed marine agrees to control the humanoid version called navi and try to mix with the native people of Pandora , and help getting a valuable mineral. But as he learns the way they live, he fall and in love with people, forest and pretty lady neytiri, He shifts the side and works with navi to help get their land against human. Agreed nothing impressive as James Cameroon earlier Terminators or Aliens but why this movie is amazing

Avatar movie has too much of hardwork put in. Even the honors at the end of movie were running for minutes, with 1000 of names it. Why so many people and what have they done. oh here goes some of the list They have created an entire new planet called Pandora, Pandora is a moon which has its own inhabitants. The lush green forest which looks much like earth but are amazingly luminescent in night, There are 1000’s of living creature and marine lives. Each Mammal, bird, humanoid system are created from scratch, oh it’s a damm new world for gods sake.

They have also developed a new language which has 500 words, this language was designed keeping in mind that it can be pronounced by actors but also at the same time should not have resemblance to English

Apart from the Pandora, they have designed numerous mechanical system to work in Pandora, Mining equipments, war heads, etc. why should be different, just because it was Pandora , the gravitational force is less in Pandora , the magnetic field is different in there so the normal machines which work in earth cannot work there is been stated.

They have developed 3 new cameras for this movie, why was it required, all the navi’s emotion, movements are captured from the real life people, and each of the expression which as real life person does is captured and translated as Navi’s motion. I guess this would be one of the reasons for 10 years of wait.

Okies these things are entirely art so why this is a sci-fi moive, there should be some science in them right , yes there are plenty of things, The imaginary “unobtanium” can conduct electricity without resistance at room temperature , The expensive rock for which humans are exploring Pandora. The Floating Hallelujah Mountains or for that case why Pandora has to be a moon.

There is a scene in which neyitri just jumps from tree trunk to the ground and remain unhurt by just gliding through the leaves of plant , Jake sully tries that but falls and still remains unhurt to an extent , one of the reason again being the gravitational force in Pandora, as it is less there.

In General the whole movie is an experience traveling to new place called Pandora. I am sure the entire bioluminescent ecosystem would give a wonderful feeling. Every body would want to have a similar ecosystem at backyard or at least in the swimming pools. Rather than a movie it can be described as a travel experience, where you come out of adventure trip discussing with your friends the amazing things you saw in the new place.

There has been much negative review for the movie in terms of the political aspects being dealt in the movie, and termed as highly anti American. But who knows the truth how snickers are made for less than dollar in Vietnam , Or the gulf wars for oil.

The movie also hold a strong spiritual message, I am not going get to a fact that which religion is been supported for that case I am anti religious in spite of being spiritual , every path leads to eternity , almighty can be reached in numerous ways. But this movie is based on Pantheism, where the belief is that “God is all” and can be compared to nature. Ewya the god of Pandora people can be compared to the mother earth.

Again lot of comparison can be drawn with various culture and religion which has Pantheistic ideas. One of the oldest cultures, Egyptian worshipped “Sun” as god. Being brought up in one of the major religion which worships Sun , moon , and various aspects of nature as god , for that case Cow , dog, Snake and various animals.

Anyways who cares what about the spiritual message in the movie, when we can easily take the message in turn of environment factor, The protagonist says once in the movie “Everything is backwards now, like out there is the true world and in here is the dream” . May the earth was once such a beautiful place as Pandora and realizing that humankind killed their mother (Earth), the entity that protects the balance of life. Mother earth like Ewva doesn’t take sides and just watches what is been done to her

Finally the movie is a wonderful travel experience to Pandora and would conclude with the statements of Dr grace from the movie “Just relax and let your mind go blank. That shouldn't be too hard for you” you will experience Pandora in wonderful 3D.

Definitely numerous stars for such Herculean effort.
